The IP output module is an output module for transmission
of digital video, audio and miscellaneous data, encapsulated
within one or more MPEG2/4/DVB single program transport
streams.
The transport streams are transmitted by UDP/IP multicasting
carried on a GbE. The transport stream packets are
encapsulated into UDP/IP packets with a configurable ratio
of 3:1 to 7:1, compared with the fixed packet ratio of 1:1 on
the TDX’s native IP OUT feature.
EIT for the SPTS outputs can be obtained via the TDX’s
native IP OUT feature as a separate multicast transport
stream. The native IP OUT EIT barker multicast has a nonconfigurable
packet ratio of 1:1.
Any UDP/IP multicasting capable device attached to the
same network (point-to-point or via a switch) can receive IP
data from the output module.
The TDX headend system provides the following functionality
when the IP output module has been installed:
• IP multicast streaming (UDP streaming)
• RTP option
• IGMP version 2
• SPTS including SDT, PAT, PMT, CAT
• Packet ratio of 3-7 TS packet per IP packet

• Max. BW 720 Mbits/s output per IP output module
• 96 services per IP output module/AUX socket
• Possible to change service ID (SID)
• Possible to select from IP via Link
• 2 x CI slots complying EN 50 221
